BRIEFLY SUMMARIZED, CALEB MICHAELSON

by Albert Fink.

Doubtlessly one of the most puzzling phenomena to sweep across both sides of the Atlantic in the last decade, Caleb Michaelson (né Caleb Way Bexter in Bristol, April 4th 1992) grew from an overnight teen idol to a genre-defying, 10 times Grammy-Award winning artist ever since his 2012 debut album, Rebirth.

Despite staying true to his signature earnest, confessional songwriting style, Caleb's career is an everlasting exploration of what rock music can be, from mellow pop-rock into harsh noisy punk-inspired riffs, folksy acoustics, sleek synths and beyond. Caleb's genreless sensibilities are perhaps the reason his music continues to garner interest from a generation that's increasingly less and less concerned with specific scenes, styles and boundaries.
